Notice Regarding DCLSA Clubhouse Renovation:
Please note that for the Summer of 2023, all classes typically held at the Deep Creek Lake Sailing Association (DCLSA) club house will be held in a tent on the property as the club house is being renovated. Steps are being taken to assure the safety and enjoyment of students and staff during all weather, fair and foul. Some classes normally held at DCLSA may be relocated to DCYC (where Adult Week classes are normally held) as needed. Please check this website or call the DCSS (see the Contact Us page) for updates. We are excited about the bigger and better classroom which is expected to open the summer of 2024.

Private Lessons
The Deep Creek Sailing School offers one-on-one (and one-on-few) private lessons throughout the summer.
All private lessons are 3 hours in length and taught taught on Flying Scots with an on-board US Sailing certified instructor. Students may use their own Flying Scot or one provided by the Deep Creek Sailing School.
Flying Scots generally accommodate one, two, or three participants (at least one of whom must be at least 18 years of age). It is not uncommon for two or more family members to share a lesson. Larger groups may require two boats, each with an instructor. Children sailing with a parent must be at least 6 years old and able to swim. (Life vests must of course be worn at all times.)
For more information, including instructions on how to register, please see the Private Lessons page of this website.
